THE THUNDERBIRDS
CELEBRATING THE ROCK HISTORY FROM THE 50s TO THE 70s

BRAND NEW!
Feuerbach Quartett - „Christmas“
Christmas music from Handel to David Bowie
The Feuerbach Quartet embarks on a winter journey through the centuries, building excitement for the holiday season: “Cool” evergreen classics like Vivaldi’s “Winter” and Wham’s “Last Christmas” are just as essential as Christmas ballet and film music, from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” to “Home Alone,” “Harry Potter,” and Disney’s “Frozen“.
The handcrafted arrangements and the boundless joy of playing from the FEUERBACH QUARTETT blur the boundaries between Baroque and modern music, making the parallels between classical and pop crystal-clear. It seems perfectly natural that Bach’s *Christmas Oratorio* functions as an overture to “Ice Ice Baby,” which seamlessly transitions into “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie, and is ultimately followed by Coldplay, Astor Piazzolla, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Edward Grieg, and Mariah Carey.
Whether it’s Handel or Leonard Cohen, everyone agrees: Hallelujah, it’s Christmas!
The program includes, among others:
-
Mariah Carey: “All I Want for Christmas Is You"
-
Handel/Europe: “Fireworks Music” / “The Final Countdown”
-
Coldplay: “Fix You”
-
Astor Piazzolla: “Winter in Buenos Aires”
-
Chris Rea: “Driving Home For Christmas”
-
Hozier: “Take Me to Church”
-
Foreigner: “Cold As Ice”
-
Red Hot Chili Peppers: “Snow (Hey Oh)”
-
“Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” (“Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming”)

THE ENSEMBLE
4 musicians from 4 nations, who, with breathtaking enthusiasm and a fearless performance without sheet music, unite Beethoven, the Beatles, and Dire Straits in a classical string quartet, thus redefining the term “chamber music.”
The FEUERBACH QUARTETT succeeds like no other ensemble in directly transmitting its pure joy of music to the audience. What began in 2014 is now a sensation on concert stages across Europe, with over 100 engagements annually: From the Salzburg Festival to Schleswig-Holstein, from Italy to Luxembourg: Whether in a philharmonic hall or at an open-air festival, there are no boundaries.
